We have assisted thousands of clients in landing the jobs of their dreams. Here are some inspiring stories about just a few of our many successful clients. Job search simplified!

Published in multiple best-selling career books, including Resumes That Knock 'em Dead

In all of the following case studies, client names and some details have been changed to protect client anonymity.

Case Study #1 Hired Before "Fired"

Tom Weaver hired Simplify Your Life Career Services to develop his resume. He was a project manager for one of the nation's largest computer manufacturers but was being downsized as part of a huge corporate reorganization. Tom's old resume didn't have a strong professional summary or achievements, both important for selling him to potential employers. In addition, Tom was so humble that he had trouble talking or writing about his good qualities.

We gathered some initial information about Tom and his career goals before emailing him our personalized resume worksheet. We provided ongoing support as Tom listed his many work-related achievements. When Tom sent the resume worksheet back to Simplify Your Life Career Services, he told us that filling out the worksheet helped his self-confidence immensely. Once he started getting in touch with his many workplace contributions, he realized that he had a great deal to offer potential employers.

After Tom got the resume worksheet back to us, we wrote Tom an outstanding resume. When Tom saw it, he couldn't believe the difference between the before and after versions. After submitting his resume to some job boards, Tom got courted by some major recruiters. In the end, Tom got his next project management position approximately six weeks before his old one even ended.

Case Study #2 Called Within Two Hours of Faxing Resume

Craig Smith was an experienced computer instructor who hired Simplify Your Life Career Services to write his resume.

Craig called us to report the incredible news: he had just faxed his resume to a potential employer, and the employer called him back within two hours to schedule an interview. When Craig went to the interview, the employer said, "Nice resume."

And it WAS a nice resume. A fictionalized version of Craig's resume was published in the 2003 edition of Martin Yate's best-selling book Resumes That Knock 'em Dead.

Case Study #3 House Cleaner Becomes Pharmaceutical Rep

Phil Walton came to Simplify Your Life Career Services with a problem. He had an impending interview with a pharmaceutical company (a friend had gotten him the interview), but his resume really needed some help. He needed an outstanding resume to show that he could really do the job!

Phil had several things going for him: he was a college football star who had gone on to play professionally for two years, and he had run his own house cleaning business throughout college to the present day. House cleaner to pharmaceutical rep? You bet!

We interviewed Phil to gather the additional information from him that we would need to write his resume. We wrote an outstanding, targeted pharmaceutical rep resume with a strong professional summary emphasizing Phil's strong sales and team building skills, and we emphasized his business/sales, customer service, and athletic achievements.

Tom had strong interviews with several pharmaceutical companies and landed a pharmaceutical rep job a few weeks later.

Case Study #4 Lands Job, Avoiding Deportation

Ramesh Kumaraswami had a big problem. He had just married the girl of his dreams, who had a good job here in the U.S., but Ramesh's latest project had come to an end, and if he didn't find a programming job soon, he would have to leave the country and return to India.

Ramesh hired Simplify Your Life Career Services to rewrite his resume. We looked over his resume and sample job leads to evaluate how his resume was marketing him. Unfortunately, his resume wasn't appropriate for the American marketplace. Not only was there no contact information (address, phone, email) at the top of the resume, the resume only listed duties, not accomplishments. In addition, the resume lacked both a clear focus and a professional summary.

There was a happy ending for Ramesh. A few weeks after we wrote his resume from scratch, Ramesh got another good programming job. As a result, he got to stay in the U.S. with his wife.
